Greetings everyone, rainy season is one of natural phenomenon here in the Philippines and sometimes it will precipitate in all parts of the country specially if there is a bad weather happens in the place. Philippine, Atmospheric, Geophysical, Astronimical, Services, Administration ( PAGASA) is a weather monitoring center found in the Philippines and they always keep monitoring the weather disturbances about specially typhoons and other bad weather systems. Last day, they announced about the Low Pressure and it possibly hit Mindanao, particularly Northern Mindanao, My Province of Misamis Oriental. If there is a bad weather happens to our place, we always keep monitoring and seeing the different parts of our areas near in our residence. January 11, at exactly 8 am, when heavy rains strike in our place, as the rain continues we started to monitor and explored the place. This excavated areas was completely flooded. Almost zero visibility yesterday. Good thing the place has already have canals and it was very helpful so that the roads will not be flooded.

Empty Road

Every rainy situations, our streets and roads are always empty, drivers and vehicular owners have their reasons why they did not take any travel. First, it is very cold outside, second a big chance of getting wet because of rains. Third, better to keep staying at the house for the safety. It is very obvious that if it rains, the road is very slippery. The drivers should take safety precautions just like driving slowly to avoid any accidents. In my second picture, we can see some infrastructure build in n open field or area and this establishment owned by Moresco1, our electric cooperative and serve electricity of entire Manticao and other neighboring places. Sometimes, the cooperative cut out or interrupt power supply to all houses to avoid any accidents electricity problems. We are very lucky on that time because they did not cut out the power supply.

Flooded River

While the rain were continuing to fall, we also went to our river here in Manticao and as I observed the river, I noticed that the place was completely in turbidity and the water was slowly rising up. I also noticed that there was many branches and twigs and other trash were flashing out because of the flood. Our Local Government was also announced and posted on social media about advicing all residents especially those who lived near at the river to keep on alert always and if the water continues to rising up, it is better to evacuate to the nearest higher ground.

NDRRMC, stands for National Risk Reduction amd Management Council was also spreading the updates about the expected situations of the place. Their information is very helpful to us so that we can keep monitoring of what will happen on the next hours, days and the following days to come. We can also know what are the areas or places should be affected of heavy rains and floods that is why it is a very big and important to us here.

Always on ready is one of good practices we must do, so that our lives will be safe including our families, loveone and other people. We can't stop the forces of Nature and we can't really perfectly predict when will it comes, that is why we should keep ourselves be on ready always.
