I’ve never eaten much mala hot pot until my job moved me to Outram Park area couple of years ago. Once a while, my colleagues and I looked at each other while going out for lunch. Sometimes, one would say Chinatown. Then, one bus ride or one train ride later, we end up at People’s Park food centre. One of the two usual mala xiang guo stall I go to is this one near the entrance. You tell them to pick the food you wanted, they tell you how much to pay. This time it was $7. I’ve paid $9 and $11 before.
几年前，我因为工作调动到欧南园地区，在此之前，我从未吃过太多麻辣香锅。有时，我和同事们在外出吃午饭时会互相看一眼。有时，我们会说是牛车水。然后，坐一趟公交车或一趟地铁就到了珍珠百貨商場的熟食中心。我经常去的两个麻辣火锅摊位之一就是入口附近的这家。你告诉他们选择你想要的食物，他们会告诉你要付多少钱。这次是 7元。我之前付过 9元和 11 元。
