Resident Evil 4 | Capcom's Gold Mine

For anyone who has owned a Gamecube in his time, or later on PS2, you will know that the fourth installment of the Resident Evil saga was one of the most important games for the sixth generation, it was not only an inspiration for the games of shots in the third person, and that would soon lead to games of the same style such as Dead Space, but it was also a great graphic marvel for the time, and that continues to look very good today, although of course this had its consequences , since this game would divert the saga to bad paths, from which it would recover with Resident Evil 7 and Resident Evil 2 Remake**.

RE 4 was undoubtedly a great game, and it knew how to attract a new audience to the saga, which itself was always very famous. However, it was the game that led the saga to failure, despite the fact that Resident Evil 5 was an interesting game, with a good campaign and good cooperative mode, its sixth installment would be the one that would end up burying the saga, practically changing it genre, and becoming a generic shooter with the name of the saga and fanservice everywhere.

But, beyond appearance, what else does this game have that so many people continue to replay it today? Well, currently the game is not far-fetched since in the saga there are games that are perhaps of higher quality, but it had interesting characteristics. In this game they left the suspense that the previous games had, to focus completely on the action, with a third person camera over their shoulder and with 3D scenarios. Although this approach also damaged the LORE of the saga, and taking away the meaning that perhaps the previous games had in its history.

Although it also had very positive aspects to bring to the saga, among them the great variety of collectibles, extras and a very good number of weapons available. It also had a lot of administration for a game of this style, since you had a briefcase that you could expand and organize your objects to have more space, with this they definitely eliminated the trunks of the previous games, which although they did not make sense. because you had the same objects in all the trunks, yes they were missed for fans of the saga.

Although the game came out in 2005 for Gamecube, and then for Ps2, it would not remain only on those consoles, this game transcended all in which it would come out, it is one of those games that comes out for most consoles, no matter what generation it is . It has several remasters, HD versions, two versions for PC and even for mobile phones and with countless mods made by fans, it was undoubtedly a success for Capcom.

In short, it was a great game, but one that divided its own community a lot, since although there are fans of the saga, there are also new users, who do not know it completely and only like that particular game. Since it came out, we have seen it in practically all the desktop consoles that have come on the market, and although many people see this practice with bad eyes, it is very positive that people who have not been able to play it do so on the console they have.
