Helldivers | The Great Isometric Cooperative Game
The developer Arrowhead Game Studios has been able to recreate another experience capable of enchanting all fans of downloadable games with "Helldiver", a game with an isometric perspective, which sought to be a success as if its "Magicka" saga was. .
In 'Helldivers' we find ourselves before an army of enemy troops that we must defeat to advance, exterminating the other races on the different planets. The objective is to maintain the style of government maintained from our world, and for that we will be part of a very futuristic team that is known as Helldivers, and that can also be played with up to three more people on the same console.
And this is where the most important aspect of the game comes in, as it is designed to be played in company. Galactic exploration is full of firearms combat, where if we go alone, it is very likely that we will not survive, or at least not initially.
In this way, we are exterminating the different alien races as they are commissioned, going through very different scenarios depending on the planet we are on. The general structure of the missions is similar and they begin on our ship, where we can change our appearance as a soldier in the division, as well as the weapons and even the different strategies to use. The latter are key in the game and serve to tackle the missions with some extra aids that work as team skills.
Details such as the sex of the character or the clothing he uses are modifiable at all times, expanding the options as the plot progresses, as well as similarly occurs in external elements such as weapons and stratagems mentioned above.
A very remarkable point and at the same time necessary in a game that gets very complicated with the passage of the missions, is the possibility of leveling up, obtaining experience through the many combats that the squadron must face. Don't expect a game where all you do is kill hordes of enemies incessantly, but a game where strategy and cooperation with your teammates matter.
And this has both its positive and negative points, and most of all they reside in those who want to shoot without thinking twice, since factors such as friendly fire make it necessary to be very careful not to injure any comrade. What's more, the mistake is not only in ending our colleagues, but if we do so we will be in serious trouble. It is important to note also that the cooperative experience can be both online and crazy, although this option is only brought by the console version.
Of course, the duration of the title is more than enough, apart from being a very replayable game to obtain the extras and the galactic campaign, consisting of the possibility of continuing in case the Earth is invaded, keeping the statistics of the previous game Of course.
One of the strongest points for its purchase, apart from its price, is that it is one of the few games that truly has a complete crossplay on Sony consoles, being able to enjoy the game on the platform that the user wants, or in several, with the game available for Ps3, Ps4 and Ps Vita. In addition, Arrowhead Games has opted for the crossave, which allows us to save the game on one console and be able to continue from that same point on a different one.
Helldivers is a highly recommended futuristic action game if you like experiences for 4 people, and it is one of the most accessible to have a crossplay that should not only be present on Sony consoles, but in most games from different platforms. And what about details such as dubbing or the local cooperative, which are details to be emphasized considering that not all studies in the industry take the trouble. Arrowhead Games has fulfilled again after the 'Magicka' saga with another adventure of isometric perspective not suitable for rushed players. The duration is another point to consider, since it lasts long enough apart from being very replayable, because it lends itself a lot to getting extras such as clothes, weapons or better characters. Maybe it would have been nice to have a better variety of missions, but it's enough for what the title offers and costs.
I really like this game and return to it often. The levels do get repetitive and calling down your special skills does take a bit of muscle memory. I do know that I am frequently killed by my own turrets and friendly fire. One of the funnier moments involved a much higher level player entering my game, spawned an armored vehicle, we all jumped in and then he drove into the lava, killing us all. It might have been intentional.
Without a doubt, it is a very fun game, but because of friendly fire there can be many misunderstandings online.
