Best Nintendo 64 Games

in INVEN Gaming4 years ago

For the history of Nintendo, the N64, its first console to make the jump to 3D was a commercial failure, due to its cartridge format, which limited the development of video games, Nintendo opted for this format to make the experience more fluid, because with this the loading screens would be smaller. Unfortunately this would have its consequences, more than anything because Sony with its new console far exceeded this console in sales. Although this does not mean that this console has not enjoyed great games, rather it had several of the best games of that generation, and today it is one of the most praised when speaking of previous generations. These are just some of the most important video games for the console, obviously there are many more, but these are 5 examples.

Super Mario 64

One of the best-known characters in fiction, Super Mario, with the new console people were looking forward to what they were going to propose this time for the new adventure of the plumber. We were pleasantly surprised when we were able to enjoy one of the most important games, not only of its genre, but also of history. Its design of levels, graphics, soundtrack and others were the most remarkable of the title, and today it is still enjoyed, more because of the number of mods and relaunches that the game has had.

Goldeneye 007

Rare is undoubtedly one of the companies that was on a streak at that time of the Nintendo 64, since the Super Nintendo they already had great successes in many genres, including Donkey Kong Country or Killer Instinc to give examples, and this time they were going to experiment with another one again but on the new Nintendo console. Goldeneye 007 was his proposal, a first person shooter game from the legendary James Bond, with amazing graphics, impressive gameplay for the time, and a very fun multiplayer for 4 players on the same console.

Diddy Kong Racing

And the thing does not end there with this company, because again they did it with a genre mostly dominated by Mario, kart racing games. With Diddy Kong Racing they gave us a game starring Donkey Kong's friend, a very polished one of the genre, who directly competed with Mario Kart in quality, as it is a very varied, fun game with a beautiful artistic design, which had nothing to ask the other games of the genre.

Super Smash Bros 64

When we talk about crossovers, Super Smash Bros is the answer in video games, the game as such is quite a celebrity, it is a party that reflects the success of the franchises that are included in this saga. This was the premise of this particular fighting game from the Nintendo franchises, which would later be added to the cast by characters from franchises outside the company. The game was a success, and today it is one of the best known in the genre and has inspired numerous video games.

The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time

To end this list, The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time was obvious that it was going to be, you can't talk about this console without mentioning it. Although Majora's Mask was much deeper and more risky than this installment, its quality is undeniable, it was not only the jump to 3D of the saga, but also one of the most important games in the industry, and that inspired the other developers when making a 3D adventure game. Everything was impressive at the time, with a world to explore, more realistic graphics, memorable moments, and an outstanding soundtrack, Ocarina Of Time was a turning point in the video game industry.

In short, the Nintendo 64 is one of the most remembered consoles today, and many of the people have been able to enjoy its great games thanks to relaunches or emulators. Many other games were missing as well, such as Banjo-Kazooie, Conker Bad Fur Day, Perfect Dark, Star Fox 64, Paper Mario 64, etc. It is a console with a great catalog and that enjoyed great exclusives, apart from being the time when Rare developed the most.

Same i say , if I had to pick one it would be Diddy Kong Racing, it was the one I had the most fun with. Good Times of the Nintendo 64
