Sher-e-Bangla Abul Kashem Fazlul Huq was well known as a Bengali diplomat in the first half of the twentieth century. He was known as Sher-e-Bangla (Tiger of Bengal) and 'Haq Saheb' to the political circles and common people. Fazluk Haque was born on 28 October 1873 at his uncle's house in Saturia village of Rajapur police station in Barisal district. He was the only son of Kazi Muhammad Wazed and Saidunnesa Khatun. K. Fazluk Haque's primary education started at home. He was later admitted to a rural school. He learned Arabic, Persian and Bengali from home teachers. In 1881 he was admitted in the third class of Barisal Zilla School. In 1886 he got a scholarship in 8th class and in 1889 Fazlul Haque took the first place among the Muslims in the then Dhaka division in the entrance examination.

Fazlul Huq was very fond of teachers due to his keen memory. After passing the entrance examination, he went to Calcutta for higher studies. He graduated from Calcutta Presidency College in 1891 with an F.A. Passed the first section of the exam.After passing, he did his B.A. in the same college with Honors in Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics. Get admitted to the class. In 1893, he completed his B.A. in first class with honors in three subjects. Passed. B.A. After passing M.A. He was first admitted to the class in English. Just six months before the exam, a friend mocked him, saying that Muslim students do not study math because they are not talented. At hearing this Fazluk Haque's insistence went up. He promised to test mathematics. After that, he got first class after studying mathematics for only six months.Sir Ashutosh Mukherjee enrolled in the Calcutta High Court as an apprentice. K. After working as an apprentice for two years, he started his own law business in 1900.After the death of his father, he returned to Barisal in 1901 and joined the Barisal court. 1903 - In 1904 he was elected Assistant Secretary of the Barisal Bar Association by a large margin. It was at this time that he joined the Barisal Rajchandra College as a professor of mathematics at the request of Dr. Harendranath Mukherjee, the principal of the college. Bamfield Fuller, the Governor of East Bengal, summoned him and appointed him as Deputy Magistrate with honor.In government service he worked for some time in Dhaka and Mymensingh.He was then appointed as SDO of Jamalpur subdivision. Bloody riots broke out between Hindus and Muslims in Jamalpur centered on the partition of Bengal.

Fazlul Huq's sincere efforts stopped the riots there. While working in Jamalpur subdivision, he witnessed the brutal oppression of zamindars and moneylenders, which he experienced while trying to remedy it in later life, which was very helpful to him. He left the post of SDO in 1908 and took up the post of Assistant Registrar of Cooperatives.During this time he visited the villages and observed with his own eyes the real condition of the peasant workers.He quit his job soon after as he did not get along with the government. Leaving the government job in 1911. Fazluk Haque joined the Calcutta High Court. He was given a civic reception in Calcutta that day. The reception was presided over by Nawab Sir Khwaja Salimullah. A. K. Fazluk Haque contested in the Barisal Municipality and District Board elections and was elected a member by a huge margin of votes. Fazluk Haque was elected a member of the Bengal Legislative Assembly.In 1915 he was again elected a member of the Bengal Legislative Assembly from the Dhaka Division. From 1913 to 1918 he addressed a total of 146 meetings of this council. Out of 147 lectures, he stood 128 times to give lectures on Muslim education. As a result of his relentless efforts, the Carmichael and Taylor Hostels were established in 1918 in the Calcutta University area. Mr. Hernel, the then DPI of the Education Department, praised Fazlul Huq's initiative in education and called him the "Bentham" of Bengal.Fazluk Haque also participated in the caliphate movement. The caliphate movement started after the First World War.

Fazluk Haque served as the secretary of the All India Khilafah Committee. In 1922, when Mahatma Gandhi withdrew the non-cooperation movement.Fazluk Haque contested the Khulna by-election and was elected. He was re-elected to the Legislative Assembly from the Khulna region in 1924 and was the Governor of Bengal at that time. He appointed Liton Fazlul Haque as the Minister of Education and Health of Bengal. K. Fazluk Haque was elected mayor of the Calcutta Municipal Corporation. He was the first Muslim mayor of the Calcutta Municipal Corporation. In March 1938, in the election of the Bengal Legislative Assembly, Krishak Praja Party fielded A. from Patuakhali constituency. Fazluq Haque and Khwaja Nazimuddin, a zamindar of Patuakhali nominated by the Muslim League and a member of the Nawab family of Dhaka, contested. After winning the election, he took over as the Prime Minister of Bengal Sher-e-Bangla Abul Kashem Fazlul Haque. K. Fazluk Haque undertook many programs. He emphasized on education. During his tenure, primary education was introduced all over Bengal without imposing taxes on poor farmers. He took the step of "abolishing the zamindari system without compensation". He has done a lot for the helpless people of Bengal. The people of Bengal will never forget his contribution. During the season, the people of Bengal still love and remember Sher-e-Bangla AK Fazlul Haque from the bottom of their hearts.Friday, April 26, 1962 at .Fazluk Haque died at the age of 88.
