Sri Lanka in Discussions to have South Asia's first Disneyland in Hambantota

Discussions are currently underway to establish the first Disneyland in South Asia in Hambantota, Sri Lanka.
It's possible that Sri Lanka will be home to South Asia's first Disneyland. Officials from Disneyland are currently in negotiations to lease a parcel of land measuring one hundred fifty acres for their new project.
In order to establish the first Disneyland in South Asia in Hambantota, discussions will take place between Sri Lanka and a team of officials from Disneyland. Investments from both Malaysia and Korea will go toward the development of the Bopitiya leisure park that has been proposed. According to a report in The Daily News, discussions are currently taking place between the government and the company to obtain a lease on 150 acres of land for the project.
If rumours are true and Disneyland does open in Hambantota, the island nation, which is currently experiencing an economic crisis, will receive a significant boost to its tourism industry.
Earlier today, State Minister Diana Gamage was quoted as saying that she has been in conversations with officials from Disneyland about the possibility of opening a Disneyland in Sri Lanka.
Millions of people in Sri Lanka, a country with a population of 22 million, are having trouble acquiring food, medicine, fuel, and other necessities as a result of the country's current unprecedented economic turmoil, which is the worst it has been in seven decades.
