HOW BIG IS INTERNET?

Today I am going to talk about an interesting topic. That’s the most useful feature in the world, Internet. Internet is the fastest growing network in the Universe. The growth of Internet is so fast that by the time one arrives at an estimate about its size, it would have significantly grown further. According to some estimates Internet comprises more than 5 million data networks spread over more than 85 countries. An estimated 4.72 billion users are reachable through Internet. This number is growing at a fantastic pace as more and more networks are joining Internet every day. It is the only 'network' that is doubling its size every year. This growth is adding a huge amount of data to the Internet reservoir, making it all the more attractive for potential users and further catalyzing its growth.

The growth of Internet is fuelled by the most diverse form of users that are on the Net and who are facilitating availability of information on almost any subject in the universe to everyone on the Net. Business houses, educational institutions, hospitals, libraries, research laboratories, newspapers and magazines, defense establishments, Government agencies, etc., are all on Internet today. Business users, however, seem to outnumber all other categories of users. Consequently, Internet has become a huge reservoir of information on practically every topic of interest! One can find information on any subject - education, medicine, travel science, arts, social science, humanities, business and economy, recreation and sports, entertainment, tourism, culture, computers Governments, international agencies and, of course, Internet over Internet The list of subjects about which information is available on Internet today is practically inexhaustible. In this form, Internet can be thought of as some kind of a Super Encyclopedia.

Nowadays the administration process of a country also works through the internet. Everything is made easy for all of us by the use of internet. For example B2C, B2B, G2C and G2G processes. As a result of Internet the whole world has become a Global village.
