THE DIARY GAME: 25/04/2021 - A CHICKEN CURRY MADE WITH YOGHURT
Hello friends,
Today I made a new style chicken curry with my sister. It is really tasty and I wanted to share it with you all and I hope you all will try this at home this week.
I have taken chicken for the recipe. But you all can take beef, mutton, prawns or crab for this recipe. If you are taking one of those meats except chicken, make sure to wash and clean them thoroughly.
Ingredients:
Chicken pieces
Yoghurt/curd
Ginger/garlic paste
Onions
Curry leaves
Capsicum
Green chilies
Cinnamon stick
Few cloves
Few cardamoms
Chili flakes
Chili powder
Pepper powder
Turmeric powder
Pinch of salt
Coconut or vegetable oil
Tomatoes
Method
First wash the chilies, capsicums, curry leaves, ginger, garlic and chicken and get all of them cut into pieces as you wish.
First take the chicken into a bowl. Put the yoghurt or curd according to your taste. Add chili powder, Turmeric powder, pepper powder and some salt and mix it well and keep 30-45 minutes until it gets marinated.
After 45 minutes, take a wok and on the fire put 4 table spoons of oil into it. Then add curry leaves, ginger garlic paste, cinnamon stick, few cloves and few cardamoms into the hot wok and let it fried till everything gets golden brown.
Then you have to add some chili flakes. Stir well. After that, add the marinated chicken pieces into the wok and shake the wok to get the chicken coated with the mixture in the wok.
You can even fry the marinated chicken a little bit before adding it into the wok. But don’t deep fry.
Cook in low fire till the chicken gets cooked for 15-20 minutes. If you prefer a gravy for the curry, you can add a cup of water into the wok if not you can cook the chicken without water.
Finally add the capsicum, green chilies, onions and tomatoes into the mixture and shake the wok or stir carefully. Be careful when adding salt if you are using salted yoghurt or curd.
You can serve this chicken curry with white or yellow rice with potatoes, a salad or some boiled vegetables.
Even you can have this for burgers and submarines.
It is so much tasty if you serve this with some noodles.
