RE: Witness Activity and SteemLogin Fork

in Witness Activities2 years ago (edited)

Warning. We are strongly against thieves like you who stole users keys in the past to maintain this app. How you even dare to use the same name as steemlogin for your scam fork.

So we are recommending to any devs and builders to make their own fork of steemlogin or continue to use steemlogin.com.
If you use the solution of steem-supporter he will steal your and/or your users keys without any doubt, he made it with dporn and tried to make it with steemauto too.

Finally we will maintain steemlogin as much as we can to protect steem users, even if we leave.

Dear @future.witness

Would you have any other suggestion to those of us, regular people who use SteemLogin? Based on my understanding , you're shutting down support to us. And there is noone else who seem to be willing to do anything to help those of us, who will be left with a huge problem.

So regardless on "history" and your opinion about steem-supporter -> this seem to be the only solution we may have. So taking a risk of trusting him will be a MUST.

As far as I'm aware, he is the one behind current version of "steem-auto": https://worldofxpilar.com

I've been using it for several months already. And so did several thousands of other Steemit users. So my line of thinking is: if he would really like to steal our keys, then he wouldn't have to develop another tool. He could simply do it already.

And yet, I don't see thousands of people complaining about it. Neither did I see hundreds or even few people who had a problem with @steem-supporter.

Correct me if I'm wrong. I'm trying to be as neutral as possible.

I would also like to point out, that he is innocent until proven guilty. And just accusing him of stealing users keys without any SOLID proov is nothing but a "low blow".

Regards,
Piotr

Hi @crypto.piotr.

So regardless on "history" and your opinion about steem-supporter -> this seem to be the only solution we may have. So taking a risk of trusting him will be a MUST.

Regarding your concern about there not existing a service to replace steemlogin, there already is one that @ety001 hosts. It can be found at https://auth.steem.fans.

And just accusing him of stealing users keys without any SOLID proov is nothing but a "low blow"

So, here's the thing about posting keys, if you authorize someone's account to use it, it is as good as you giving access to your voting and posting rights in case of posting key. And I'm sure you are aware of what had happened the last time with steem-auto(the one maintained by steem-supporter). So, when a auth service comes out, it's not uncommon for everyone to be apprehensive about using it.

Alright , what about accusations of lost funds while i had posting auth that was signed through steemlogin by providing active key . How can you relate lost funds with posting authorization

That was a bullshit claim and I didn't even try to support that. Pretty sure most of the people who did question your previous actions know that your posting authority had nothing to do with the funds lost. A few non-technical ones might have had the issue.

All claims were bullshit TBH ., ,, i was dragged into this

Thank you @starlord28

I wasn't aware of that particular option. But then, the problem of "trust" is still an issue. Could you please tell me who @ety001 is?

Perhaps it is a well known person, I however never heard that name.

And I'm sure you are aware of what had happened the last time with steem-auto(the one maintained by steem-supporter)

Truth be told - I've heard about that issue, which took place quite a long while ago. However, it never affected me or anyone from Project.hope community or anyone else that I know from Steemit.

And as far as I'm aware, there has been never any real proof that @steem-supporter did use his position to hack any accounts.

So my view is still as follow: I'm glad to take a risk and put my trust in steem-supporter. I'm even using current version of STEEMAUTO which he is managing. And neither me or any of thousands of other users complained about their accounts being hacked.

That gives me some perspective and I'm growing to belief, that this conflict is nothing more than personal issue between steem-supporter and person behind @future.witness

I may be of course wrong. But this is where I stand right now.

Cheers, Piotr

Could you please tell me who @ety001 is?

He's a developer from the Steemit team. Pretty much every developer on this platform who runs their witness nodes would know ety001. Any issues with TRX rewards, spam accounts on steem, and the whole steemit.com is partly maintained by him. So, the platform that you and I use regularly is all maintained by him and a few others.

there has been never any real proof that @steem-supporter did use his position to hack any accounts.

I was one of the people who was affected. In fact, the whole of bestofindia community was affected by this. I have said this several times before as well, I cannot trust this person until he gives me a solid claim that I can believe. I have told this to xpilar as well. I do believe xpilar is doing right but steem-supporter has not provided any evidence of why people should even be trusting him.

@crypto.piotr here's a trip back down memory lane where your account too was abused. Probably never noticed. https://steemit.com/xrp/@cubexagon/xrp-is-it-the-future

Thanks for being so responsive

@crypto.piotr you are right , and thanks for the comment , Apart from this i will like to point out few things that might drag another situation here .

Neither previous SteemAuto maintained by myself or the new one https://worldofxpilar.com maintained by @xpilar Asks users to give us keys in any form , There is one this to Note down and Seriously focus on . We only want our users to authorize us to give their posting authority NOT KEYS . Those transactions to authorize us to use posting on behalf of our users are signed through steemlogin.com so users needs to give their keys to steemlogin not us . So if any keys were lost or manipulated should and must have happen from steemlogin side as they had access to keys ..not Apps that asks for Posting Authority - And if something had went wrong with the keys i guess anyone can tell where it happened .. I hope you got my point ..All this is baseless blames against me and @xpilar .. who now is called as scammer by handful of peoples who don't like us doing the good work here in STEEM

I have read, i fully agree with @crypto.piotr ..this seems nothing but a planned attack against @xpilar and @steem supporter .. without any proof ..if such activities was happened then where are those peoples whose accounts were used .. There is no comments from thousands of users who still have authorized the old steem auto .. and yet handful of peoples complain .. this is a baseless blame.

the best stay in the good circle.
@xpilar and @steem-supporter

thanks @sultan-aceh .. real peoples knows the real things .. only those people who have personal issues with me (i don't even know why) are dragging me into this . We are here to do the good work ..guess this is just jealousy
