What is Polkadot ?

Polkadot is a decentralized blockchain platform that enables the connection and collaboration of different blockchains. The goal of Polkadot is to improve the interoperability and scalability of blockchain networks while maintaining security and decentralization.

Polkadot achieves this goal by using a "Relay Chain" as a hub to connect different "Parachains" (concurrent blockchains). These Parachains can be configured in different ways to support various use cases, from DeFi (decentralized finance) to identity management and IoT (Internet of Things).

Polkadot also allows upgrades and changes to be made to the platform without requiring a hard fork. This means that the platform remains flexible and adaptable while maintaining the integrity of the network.

Overall, Polkadot aims to create a secure, scalable, and interoperable ecosystem for blockchain applications while preserving decentralization.
