RE: 찜찜함이 남은 Hive의 분기, 그리고 스팀과 한국 커뮤니티가 해야할 일
Hello Clayop.
The Korean community wasn't excluded. Any account actively participating in the Sybil attack was excluded. Land of origin was not part of the criteria when processing the list of excluded accounts.
There are many accounts from all over the world on the exclusion list.
I feel it is unfortunate the Korean community feels like it was excluded due to this common misrepresentation of the facts.
It's worth noting and this fact requires thought: The people who voted for the original witnesses did not know in advance they would receive an air drop.
The fact is, a kind of 'Central Committee' excluded those who were against them. The exclusion was the true identity of deformed decentralization.
The real fact is: Not everyone agreed, yet there was enough of a majority to go through with the decision. A way to appeal the decision was also implemented. From there a broader section of the community can decide who, out this list of exclusions, can successfully obtain an airdrop. The list of exclusions was never to be interpreted as a final decision. What was required of those on the exclusion list was patience and professionalism. But instead, we got outrage and misinterpretation.
Please note. I do not represent those who made the decision to include an exclusion list. I simply base my logic on facts and common sense. No political stance whatsoever.
For security reasons, I feel it would be unwise to include those accounts actively participating in a Sybil attack. One of the main reasons to hardfork and split was to stop the Sybil attack. If you include those actively participating in a Sybil attack, they might do it again and the hardfork split becomes pointless. Simple, common sense.
Criteria on participating Sybil attack was too low in this case, voting for two Justin's witnesses. It could be 10 to 15 which has meaningful impact.
Yes or no. Was there participation in a Sybil attack?
There's no place in between. The politics were meaningless and destructive. Impossible to answer both yes and no. Answering both yes and no is flawed logic.
I wished we Kr ccould satisfy both, or at least could bring peaceful coexistence. Dichotomy is simple and efficient but sometimes generates more conflicts than necessary. I still hope both to succeed :)
Everyone on all sides learned a hard lesson. Now it's time to move on. Hopefully with respect.
Totally agreed with your last sentence. 👍
