CONTEST #13: MY TRAVELLING MOMENTS : HAKGALA BOTANICAL GARDEN

Today I'm going to share one of my favourite experience in Hakgala Botanical Garden. This place is simply amazing. This is one of my favourite places in Sri Lanka. This garden is one of the most popular and the second largest botanical garden located in Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka. Which was established in 1861. It is situated on Nuwara Eliya-Badulla main Road, 16km from Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka.

This garden has a cool climate which has the minimum and coolest temperature of Sri Lanka and it has various of plants and beautiful flowers such as the rose garden, magnificent trees, Indoor plants and flowers.

This garden is especially famous for their roses and orchids. Most of the visitors prefer to visit this place during march and April because it’s the time to start the Nuwara Eliya season. Therefore, Sri Lankans never forget to visit this place in order to see the beauty of this place. Even some vehicles are also there for people and it takes people all around the garden to see the beauty of this place.

My family members, friends and I really love to visit this place and ill will share the beauty of this place and how we enjoyed visiting this place with you all.

I and my family members including cousins entered to Hakgala at evening around 3 pm. Since Nuwara Eliya has a cool climate, once we were in Nuwara Eliya we felt that we were in a different country. As you all knowS Lanka isn’t having a cool climate throughout the year but Nuwara Eliya. We had a very fresh and calm feeling once we entered to the garden.
I felt I was in a heaven when I saw the flowers in it.

It took around 3 to 4 hours for us to have a visit around this garden. Specially my mother went crazy when she saw the flowers as she loves flowers a lot. It took more times to take photographs rather than actually visiting the beauty of this place. Specially my sister was little annoying to me as she always asked me to take photographs of her. Ill share some of the pictures we took during the visit.

Many tourists are visiting this place throughout the year but with current Covid -19 pandemic foreign visitors have been increasingly decreased. Specially most of the young girls and boys love to visit this garden rather than older generation. If you come to Sri Lanka don’t forget to visit this place and there are even hotels around the garden if you want to find. You will definitely love this place if you have the experience here and also remember not to damage and harm the flowers and plantation here.
