So, here’s the scoop: Russell Westbrook is on the move again. Yeah, you heard that right. The Clippers and Jazz just dropped a bomb with a sign-and-trade deal involving Russ, and word is, he’s heading to the Nuggets after Utah waives him and buys out his contract. This comes straight from Woj, so you know it's legit.

Let’s break it down. The Clippers are snagging guard Kris Dunn from the Jazz. Dunn's getting a three-year, $17 million deal with the third year being non-guaranteed. Not a bad pickup, right? Meanwhile, Utah is grabbing a 2030 second-round pick swap, the draft rights to Balsa Koprivica (the 57th pick back in 2021), and $4.3 million in cash.

Westbrook just wrapped up a rough season, putting up career-low numbers with the Clippers. We’re talking 11.1 points a game, folks. But the Nuggets need some spark off the bench, especially after losing Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Reggie Jackson in free agency. Nuggets GM Calvin Booth is out here saying they need backcourt help and Russ might be their guy.

“Look, we need that energy in the backcourt,” Booth told Altitude TV. “We got a roster spot and if we can snag a high-level guard, we’re golden.”

Westbrook, 35, opted into his $4 million contract last month, but with Paul George bouncing to the Sixers, Clippers’ prez Lawrence Frank had to make moves. They’ve been talking with Russ’s agent, looking for the best fit for the nine-time All-Star.

“Russ is a legend,” Frank said. “He brought fire to our squad, and we wish him all the best.”

Russ started last season as the Clippers’ main point guard. But then, boom, they traded for James Harden, and Russ got bumped to the sixth-man spot. And get this, the Clippers went on a 26-5 tear, their best run of the season. Westbrook’s numbers dipped to career lows in assists and minutes, but he played some fierce defense. He ranked fourth in field goal percentage allowed among players contesting 300-plus shots, according to Second Spectrum.

Westbrook and George, former Thunder buddies, had some good times on the court. But now, the Clippers are rolling with Kawhi Leonard and Harden, adding defensive grinders like Dunn, Derrick Jones Jr., and Nicolas Batum.

As for Dunn, he put up 5.4 points, 3.8 assists, and 1.0 steals per game, shooting a solid 36.9% from beyond the arc in 66 games. And the dude is a defensive beast, ranking sixth in deflections per 36 minutes among players logging at least 1,000 minutes.

So, there you have it. Russ is off to Denver, Clippers get Dunn, and the Jazz snag some future assets. The NBA never sleeps, people. Keep your eyes peeled.
