Portugal 2-1 Scotland

After my walk there was not much to do, but then I remembered we had European football, and the game they televised was Portugal vs Scotland. Now I am a big Portugal fan, mainly because I have ancestral roots from there, but it just happens I also have some Scottish DNA in me, but still I was rooting for Portugal. Mostly because I expected them to win.

And the game started out as I thought it would, Portugal on the attack and I figured it would just be a matter of a few minutes before they scored. but I was incredibly wrong, Scotland kind of equalized the control of the game and in a counterattack they scored. Of course after this goal Portugal went all out looking for the equalizer, but they just couldn't do it. Chances they had a lot but between bad timing and good work from the Scottish goalkeeper Scotland finished the first half ahead.

During the second half Martinez made a couple of substitutions, including Ronaldo and Joao Felix, but it was Bruno Fernandez who scored the draw from a great assistance by Leao and also hitting the ball very well. Gunn touched the ball but it still went in. Now I thought after this goal Portugal would become an avalanche, but actually for at least fifteen minutes after the draw Scotland were the better team. Eventually Portugal again took possession of the ball and after missing several chances Ronaldo scored the winner. Now I was really upset with Ronaldo. he argues too much. But he did score the winner, the man seems to always be there when needed. I guess 901 professional goals says it all. No need to argue about who is better, that all depends on every individuals point of view, personally I think Maradona blows everyone away, but in reality I think it all comes down to game by game, on some days someone is the best and the next week he flops.

Well Portugal is first place in its group and I would say they are practically qualifies for the next phase.
