The queen lays approximately 2,000 eggs per day and she decides if it will be a male or female. If she fertilizes the egg, it will be a female. If she does not fertilize the egg, it will be a male.
#Love the part about do-nothing drones getting kicked out of the hive.
HaHa! The drones eat their food supply so it is high time for them to stop mooching. Off you go, you good for nothing drones. : )
