Catholic churches torn down or denuded of their crosses and statues. Images of the
Madonna and Child replaced with pictures of “People’s Leader” Xi Jinping. These are just some of the ways that the Chinese Communist Party is persecuting Christians in China. But it’s not just Christians. In China’s Far West, over a million Muslims languish in concentration camps. Buddhist temples are being turned into shrines celebrating Xi Jinping, China’s President For Life. On Feb. 1, 2020, new restrictions on all forms of religious activity came into force. The “Control Measures for Religious Groups,” as the 41 new rules are called, deal with everything from the holding of rites and rituals, to the selection of leaders and annual meetings, to the hiring of staff and the handling of funds. All of these must be reported — in advance, no less — to the comrades at the “Religious Affairs” office for their approval.

No sorprised at all. Some days ago, a friend commented on my post about Chinese Piracy that they had been able to copy and forge almost anything, except Jesus/god. My response to him was precisely that they had already done that ()

I think that most churches/religions deserve this kind of treatement from totalitarian regimes. They have learned nothing from history. They appeal to an allegedly superior value of tolerance and love to allow these idiots to do as they please with people and ideas, then they complain and victimize themselves.
We see in Venezuela. Since 1998 when chavez got to the presidency it was clear that they would attack the catholic church. They have been putting pressure to all religious institutions, including schools, and yet, we have a pope who cannot hide his sympathies for leftist leaders, only because in theory they represent the voice of the poor. Give me a f...ing break!
My internet service has been so bad lately i have not been able to read about the alleged purchased of steemit by a chinese millionaire. I can't say much yet, but if this has political ramifications I guess I won't last too long here.
China is nowadays, along with Russia, the best example of neo totalitarianism/neodictatorship. They are wrapped under the lustrous shawl of economic prosperity and they have extended their tentacles so ubiquitously they will control everything everywhere if they are not stopped.
History has known that totalitarian regimes usually affect, control or destroy other religions.
but the surprising thing is that despite the fact that china is destroying religion in their country,the country seems to keep moving forward,i guess religion do not have a much great impact in the country..
well he is one of the most powerful leaders that ever exist in the world,so i am not surprised to hear this...
when a man have too much powers,he tend to abuse it...
there are some leaders that i feel have too much powers on their hands...
just like i told my cousin,i said i believe the citizens allowed him to have such powers over them...
i believe if a religion can be destroyed by just one single man then that was never a religion...
no leader should be allowed to be more powerful than his or her country....
