Among all HIV-positive individuals, there is 1% of people known as “HIV controllers” who can naturally control the infection without taking any drugs.

After years of research, French scientists from the Institut Pasteur managed to reprogram in vivo cells from HIV-positive non-controller patients to give them the same antiviral potency as controllers’ cells.
