Weekly history of photography series-week#1-Cartier Bresson

in #historyofphotography6 years ago (edited)

Hello steemian friends and welcome to the history of photography series , I was looking at the photography tag in steemit a while ago and I found out this community has so many photography lovers, but we don't really have so many educational and historical topics about photography here on steemit.

So I came up with the idea of making this kind of content every week to first help me to learn more about photography and famous photographers then share it for the peoples who love and care about the history of this medium, so I will introduce a photographer every week and select some of their work and this week's topic is master of  Decisive  moment : Henry Cartier berson

Your first 10,000 photographs are your worst." berson

Born in Chanteloup, Seine-et-Marne, Henri Cartier-Bresson developed a strong fascination with painting early on, and particularly with Surrealism. In 1932, after spending a year in the Ivory Coast, he discovered the Leica - his camera of choice thereafter - and began a life-long passion for photography.

The Decisive Moment

For better understanding of decisive moment lets read this paragraph of person himself :“
To me, photography is the simultaneous recognition, in a fraction of a second, of the significance of an event as well as of a precise organization of forms which give that event its proper expression.

portraits

he also has a great collection of portraits of famous artists and the trick is that you can some how see character of each artist in their portrait
