History The Story of the Ancient Path built during the Sengoku Era
The Sengoku period is one of the periodic divisions in Japanese history that began around the year 1493 the Meionoseihen Events (an upheaval within the Ashikaga clan to determine the inheritance of the shoguns) until the 15th shogun of Ashikaga Yoshiaki was conquered by Oda Nobunaga which marked the end of the Muromachi era and initiated the Azuchi Momoyama . The Sengoku period is the end of the Muromachi era. There is also an opinion that says the age of Azuchi Momoyama or also called Shokuho era.
An ancient road that connects from the South Leg of Yatsugatake to Nagano. General Military in the Sengoku era, Takeda Shingen made a military road built for North Shinano's strategy, called "" Bomichi "" because it penetrates directly through the foot of Mount Yatsugatake. This place is chosen as one of 500 where you can enjoy the beauty of Japan.
A Kannon statue that watches passers-by is placed every 109 degrees apart and used as a checkpoint where people make hope for the security of their journey. From Oizumi District, Hokuto City at the southern foot of Yatsugatake, you can walk about 22KM on the road to Haramura (Yatsugatake west leg area) through Kobuchizawa District, Hokuto City and Fujimi District in Nagano Prefecture.
In addition, Bomichi around Kobuchizawa is still used for riding, and you can see people riding horses in the forest during the holidays.
