'Medic!'

In a small town north from here, while visiting an old place, I find this replica of medeval medical chart. It seems that most of the battle wounds have been indentified and noted.

Comes off seriously morbid but we need to take in the account that back then times were quite different.

People butchered each other with cold weapons on numerous battlefields throughout the Old World.

Well, not that we don't butcher each other today but the means are more sophisticated. I'm not sure what is worse...

What is interesting is the low level of knowledge from doctors of the time. I believe the survival rate was so low that a more serious wound likely meant slow and painful death.

Let's be thankful for the surgeons of today, people who patch up even from more deadly injuries. Thanks don't go to pharma industries and vaccination illusionists. :D

Love your doctor. :)

Modern medicine definitely made a big step forward. Every year, doctors find new medicines and the quality of medicine grows. Along with the level of medicine, life expectancy also increases. Many serious diseases are currently (if they are detected in the early stages of development) can be cured or significantly prolonged the lifespan.
In the Middle Ages, medicine was really underdeveloped. I read about this article a long time ago. Some ways of treating diseases and injuries were really very painful and cruel. This is reflected in some pictures of past centuries. Especially severe is dental treatment and surgical operations (if it can be called so). An interesting and shocking picture.
Thank you:)

oh yes in the old days we were not updated like we are nowadays. We didn't even know about the deceases correctly how it could be cured if we don't even know which decease we are suffering from. but nowadays medical have revolutionized the world, now the dangerous deceases like cancer and dengue can be point out and can be cured. The chart and image you have shown in the picture are perfectly telling us about the wounds that people get in the wars, and in those days a little wound can cause your death, and this thing makes me sad, Why we are dealing with wars, can't there be an air of peace everywhere? Can't we talk instead of wars? Why human life is so disgraceful, why why why?

@velimir hello 👋 sir The real thing is that today's medicine has become so good that even though it is very difficult for the people, but Dr. is making him fit, technology has become very good, with the help of technology, any disease is arranged properly by treatment, what does he say?

That's a seriously disturbing anatomical illustration, I don't know if it was better for a wounded warrior to die under what palliative care was available than to be brought for treatment to a physician who uses reference guides such as that.

Thanks for stealing my comment, pal.
