🎬 Rumoh Acehnese Museum Indigenous Heritage of Aceh During Dutch Colonialism

Hello dtuber all ...
Did you know that this Aceh traditional house has been made into Aceh's mess? This Mesium Aceh is located on Jalan Alauddin Mahmud Syah, Banda Aceh. This museum stores various trinkets of historical heritage from the people of Aceh since prehistoric times. Here we can find various types of tools, agricultural equipment, household appliances, traditional weapons and traditional clothing. In this museum we can also find various ancient manuscript collections, photo and model documentation from the development of the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque.

The museum was founded during the reign of the Dutch East Indies. The inauguration was held on July 31, 1915, by the Aceh Civil and Military Governor General HNA Swart. The museum is headed by FW Stammeshaus which was presented as the Head of the Museum and Curator until 1931. At that time, the museum was only in the form of a traditional Aceh house (Rumoh Aceh) which can still be used inside the museum yard until now. This wood-based work uses a stilt house with a construction system that can be assembled flexibly.

Rumoh Aceh was previously shown in a Colonial Exhibition (De Koloniale Tentoonsteling) which took place in Semarang the previous year. In the exhibition, most of the collections at the Aceh Pavilion were Stammeshaus' personal collections plus various collections of heirlooms inherited from the Aceh sultanate. In this arena, Rumoh Aceh was downloaded as the best Pavilion with 4 gold medals, 11 silver and 3 bronze for various categories.

In addition, at the western end the room is closed with a mat, and at a solemn ceremony, the rug is placed where each guest is provided with a "tika duek" (sitting mat) each, rectangular shaped woven and decorated beautifully.

Some pieces of wood carved with traditional Acehnese decorations depend on the low northern wall. Painting of the Nation's Heroes; Sultan Iskandar Muda, Tengku Chik Di Tiro, Cut Nyak Dhien, Teuku Nyak Arif and Teuku Umar Johan Pahlawan, which were enlivened by displays of musical instruments "Rapa-i" (a type of drum) in large, small, double-decked high walls, accompanied by with tapestry ornaments, deer antlers carrying hats, spears and deer heads, and paintings. This room usually contains equipment items that address the type of work or hobby of the homeowner. Not infrequently in this room there is also a "leuek" bird cage (balam) or "meureubok" (perkutut).

Well, that's a short story from me about the background of this Acehnese traditional messiah, hopefully it will be useful for all of you, and enjoy the video.

… Thanks for watching …
