Johannes Vermeer. This painting shows the face of a girl wearing a scarf and a pearl. The painting was in the collection of the paintings of the Maurice Museum in The Hague since 1902.

Description:
This painting falls under a category called "Tronie", a Dutch description of the seventeenth century of paintings with faces and shows on these faces some emotions and feelings. The painting depicts a European girl wearing an unconventional dress, an oriental turban, and, uncertainly, wearing a pearly tie.

In 2014, space physicist Vincent Eck (in Dutch:
Vincent Icke) cast doubts on what is the constituent of the claws, and claims that it most likely appears as a refined oval rather than a pearl depending on the large size of the claws and its shape and its bright reflection.

The painting is an oil painting 44.5 cm high and 39 cm wide. The painting is signed with "IVMeer" but not dated. The painting is estimated to have been painted around 1665
After the restoration of the last painting, the delicate color and intimate look of the girl in the painting improved towards the beholder dramatically.

During the restoration process, it was discovered that the painter initially intended to make the background painted dark green instead of the black background currently dotted. This effect was produced by placing a thin layer of transparent coating, called a cocoon. In any case, this green-green lengthening consists of two organic components: the nile and the yellowish-yellow pigment have disappeared.
