Old Chapel on the University of Pretoria Campus
Old Chapel on the University of Pretoria Campus
My one son was taking part in a serenade performance on the campus of Pretoria. This took place in this small Catholic Chapel which is on the University grounds. The Chapel was built in 1925 and was known as the Church of Saint Alfons Maria de Liguori. The Chapel was bought from the church in 1980 and is mainly used for weddings. The photo above is of a very interesting small organ, with the pipes on top of it, I never saw an organ like this before. The photo below shows the main organ which is elevated and at the back of the church, this organ also looks beautiful.
Below you can see the front of the Chapel!!
The church has beautiful stained glass windows.
Below you can see the right side of the church with some more stained glass windows. This is a rather small, but beautiful little church.
We enjoyed the singing of the students a lot, it was a beautiful morning of music in a beautiful old church!! Below is a photo of the outside of the church, which I got from the internet.
I hope you liked my post as much as I enjoyed writing it!!
All photos, except the last one were taken with my iPhone at the University of Pretoria, South-Africa.
