VICTOR AMEDEE DE LA FAGE

During the french royal period, France was divided in différents area (province). Those areas had assemblies to vote for the budget.
This token (counter) was for a member of the assembly of Burgundy for the year 1704. In those assemblies the three orders were represented (1/3 Nobility, 1/3 churchmen, 1/3 Ordinary men called "tiers état")
Each representant recieved a bursa of 100 Counters (tokens)

On the Obverse : VICTOR AMEDEE DE LA FAGE his arms .
On the Reverse : ORBI LUX ALTERA full moon over a countryside. same reverse than the token of the assembly for 1715.

Alors que certains Etats comme la Bretagne ou le Languedoc ont peu de jetons de personnages. La Bourgogne offre une belle série de jetons aux armes des membres du clergé et de la noblesse.
