Conseil du roi 1644

Here is a French token (counter) of brass of the " Conseil Royal " of 1644.
These tokens were distributed in bursa of 100 tokens every year to the members of this administration, the tokens of silver went to the persons in charge of the administration and those of copper or brass to the employees. They are usually engraved by allegories or facts which were spent previous year.

On the obverse : NIL NISI CONSILIO the arms of France.
On the reverse : LAETA DEVM PARTV the queen with her two sons in a chariot pull by two lions.
