North Korea, Issue 4, Volume 235, 1976

in #history8 years ago (edited)

So, this is a Chinese magazine about North Korea. As stated in an earlier post, one of my hobbies in China is collecting old printed matter. And, like always, looking at these things makes we wish I could learn to read Chinese much quicker. However, for starters, this publication seems less slick then the Chinese one about Vietnam I posted about a few days ago. As one might expect, Kim-Il Sung is a prominent theme throughout. As also noted in the previous post, the blue stamp you like see throughout these magazines are likely from a censor or the propaganda office back then.  Another added not here is a bit of travel advice. Notice how badly machine translators like Baidu Translate garbles language. It's something you have to live with day to day as a foreigner in China who either doesn't know the language or is in the early stages (like me) of learning it.  Anyhow, here are a few pages.
