The product was released and Sir Robert was very confident in his new product. After being tested for wounds and burns, he was satisfied with the result of his product. It was first sold in pharmacies, but no one was able to experiment with this new invention. , All methods of selling failed in its first attempt. While traveling to New York to explain his new product to a large crowd, Chesbro burned his skin with a flame and acidic substance and used Vaseline to show people its amazing effectiveness in treating burns. He provided free samples to increase demand, and finally succeeded and opened its own factory, and called it "Vaseline" (was called "Petroleum jelly" in the beginning) and received a patenta in 1870.
After that, a rumor was heard by many people that Chizpro was eating a tablespoon of Vaseline each morning. He admitted that he used to take a tablespoon of this product for several years, believing in its healing abilities .
He died at age 96.
