In Thailand, in the famous city of Ayutthaya is a world famous Wat Mahathat temple, which once, in the heyday of the Kingdom of Ayutthaya, was the most majestic and big government Church-monastery, which also served as the main residence of the Buddhists.

In 1767 and the capital of the Kingdom, and its magnificent temple was destroyed by the invading country by the Burmese, after which, it should be noted, the main residence of the Buddhists have not recovered until now.

According to the prevalent legend, the Burmese not only destroyed Buddhist temples, they first cut off the heads of Buddha statues, thus trying to humiliate their enemies, even in their faith. Moreover, they dug these severed heads in the ground and forced the captives of the Thai people to walk on them. On the territory of modern Thailand and today you can find temples with Buddha statues without heads, and therefore we can only guess that these sacred heads of the prophet are still under the ground.

However, the Wat Mahathat is famous for having in its territory lies the head of the Buddha was able to "break" into the light. In this she was helped by the roots of a sacred Bodhi tree, which was braided and literally lifted the head of the statue of Buddha on the earth's surface.
