Taphophobia is the fear of being buried alive.
The story of Ann lee
Anne Hill Carter Lee was buried alive unknowingly, after being confirmed dead by the family doctor. This was the era when safety coffins were in vogue during the 18th and 19th century.
Anne Lee was born into an exceptionally wealthy family of that era in America. After her body was lowered in the vault, a sexton visited the vault and heard muffled screams of Anne and called upon the family. She was exhumed and she was healthy and completely alive.
This shook her family and remained a mystery up to this day. Anne later gave birth to Robert E. Lee, one of history well known figures.Anne-Hill-Carter-Lee.jpg
