RAFLY KANDE is a very global Acehnese artist. Even his work has spread all over the world. He was born to a peasant family. His passion for music began in junior high.

Nevertheless, he was a teacher at a State Islamic Madrasah (MIN) in the village of Ujung Panga. In 1994, he moved to MIN Setui in Banda Aceh in 2000.

At that time, Aceh's music was dominated by plagiarism or remixed remixes of dangdut and remixes of Indian songs whose poems were composed into Acehnese.

He departed from his anxiety in Aceh music that is far from tradition, Rafly and some friends set up a musical group that collaborated with traditional Aceh instruments such as suron kale, rapa-i and tambo with modern musical instruments.
Rapa-i in Indonesia is more familiar with tambourine. Rapa-i played with this beating have different sizes according to the type of music that uses it. This musical instrument is often played in the Aceh art scene featuring typical Aceh music, such as rapa-i geleng, rapa-i geurimpheng, rapa-i debus, and others.

Surune kale is a kind of wind instrument like a flute. The unique musical instrument is the sound issued not sped up to the end of this instrument itself, in the sense that the word instrument can sound either sucked or blown by the wind.

Initially Kande consists of Rafly (vocals), Zulkifli (ebony kale), Alul (guitar), Amir (bass), Iyan (drums), Munjir (keyboard), Kiki (rapa'i I), Puput (rapa'i II) , And Papi (rapa'i III). However, now their formation is little changed, with the addition of rapa-i players from three to five people and the turn of some modern musical instrument players.

Their last lineup is Rafly (vocals), Zulkifli (drums, surune kale), M. Rafiqi (rapa-i), Ferdiansyah (rapa-i), Fadhlul Sunni (electronic guitar), Munzir (bass), and Alfian (drums) Supported by Deddy Andrian (akusitik guitar), Zulfikar (rapa-i), Ishlahuddin (rapa-i), and Armia (rapa-i).

In 2000, the group worked for eight months to incorporate Acehnese ethnic music in Studio Murizal Taher, known as Momo in the Keramat village of Banda Aceh. Along with the cultivation of Kande's first album, "The Fighting Spirit", Rafly prepared a solo album titled "Hasan and Husen". He is supported by a number of prominent poets in Aceh, such as Panton's father, Media Hus, and Sheikh Lah Bangguna.

Although rejected in one of the producers. But now he is a famous musician in Aceh. His fame even made him elected a member of the DPRA.
