Taj mahal is one of the seven wonders of the world and pride of India, built by shahjahan in 1643 this beautiful monument is symbol of love built by an emperor for his beloved wife, but there are also some hidden facts behind this beautiful white monument. Some of these facts that were astonishing for me even are :
Taj mahal is a Hindu temple, since it was built on lord shiva temple. Wall decorations are typical rajput style.the Vedic style design on the underside of the dome over the central cenotaph chamber.
A black taj mahal was also planned to be built on the other side of the river but war between shah jahan and his son interrupted the plan. these two monuments were supposed to be linked with a bridge. some say it is a fiction some say it is history.

At different times of day taj mahal changes its color from pinkish hue in the morning to milky white in the evening and golden at night.

Taj is not flawless , there is a small hole on the ceiling of main hall at the angle of 90° above the tombstone of mumtaj mahal.
this hole was intentional work of an artisan because he wanted to destroy the masterpiece, as he knew about the decision made by the emperor of amputating all the artists.
