The Oldest Known Excerpt Of Homer’s Odyssey Was Just Discovered
I’m a massive fan of classical history. I’ve been to Greece and was enchanted by the rich history and legendary epics of the past. The Odyssey, as well as the Iliad play a foundational role in western civilization. Parts of a few verses from the odyssey were recently unearthed near a statue of Zeus near Olympia. What a wonderfully appropriate place for it to be found.
Maybe this will get a new generation of students interested in Ancient Greece and its unparalleled impact on our modern civilization
