A team of researchers stated that early humans lived in the tropical rain forests of Indonesia more than 70 thousand years ago, 20 thousand years ahead of what is believed to be earlier. The findings of this research team from the Australian Centre for Human Evolution (ARCHE) is collaborating with the international team on the discovery in the rain forests of Sumatra in Indonesia.

Research report shows that early humans could migrate to Australia earlier than estimated.

One of the researchers in the project, Julien Louys of ARCHE, says that the goal of the project is to rediscover and analyzing fossil Pleistocene site anniversary.

"Bottom line, we know that modern human bodies have been found from one of these sites (Manager for Lida)," said Louys as quoted from Xinhua, Thursday (10/8/2017).

"We want to collect samples to estimate the time, and also see the kind of environment that had these people," he added.

According to Louys, the ancient human remains that are found also among other Sumatran rain forest mammals which means they stay in the same rain forest environment challenged him with a limited technological capabilities.

"Living in the rain forest is hard to do without sophisticated technology, because proteins are hard to find-the rain forest usually have animals that are vague or canopy that can be hard to be arrested-and carbohydrate is not common," said Louys.

"Human beings who survive in this environment shows that they behave and have the technology necessary to collect these resources," he explained.

In order to survive, Louys believes that these early humans had to develop sophisticated methods for human beings at that time, with adaptation to the unforgiving environment becomes the key.

"They certainly can make a complicated plan, understand where this resource can be found and how best to extract it, and have the ability to make tools or traps that can catch the creatures of the rain forest," explains Louys.

In the future, the researchers said that he hoped to determine the path taken by this primitive humans when migrating to the rest of Southeast Asia and to determine when exactly it happened.

"It is possible that humans in Southeast Asia spread prior to this time," said Louys.

"We also want to improve our understanding of how people can live in the rain forest, and how early humans began to use this type of environment," the lid.
