What an interesting topic! I tend to approach history from a top-down, big event focus, and often tend to miss out on more focused topics like this one. (I'm a big history buff too, if you hadn't guessed!)

Also, high five on being the first person I've seen on Steemit to use in-text citations!

I love a good citation. There's something deeply satisfying about making them, and also about encountering them in other's work. (Of course, we'll see how I feel about them at the end of my dissertation...😉)

I am definitely a bottom-up, individual agency-focused historian, but I appreciate the top-down focus, too—it's really cool to contextualize my smaller stories in the history of the rest of the world!
