Hi;), thank you. The masks are mainly made out of wood. Yes, they are very heavy. As you can see in some of the videos a part of the clothes are burning during the ritual. The performer is possessed by the god or spirit, so his human nature is not present, he has so to say supernatural power.
I know some similar rituals in the Tibetan Buddhism, where they make Pujas, invocations and dances... Really a unique experience...
