How old is this dish?
My friend showed me this old dish plate. That souvenir was gift by his grandmother. She inherited it from her parents. He does not know exactly when this dish is manufactured or purchased.
On the picture are Serbian King Alexander Obrenovic and his wife, Queen Draga Masin. They were killed in a coup in 1903. The murder of King Alexander meant the end of the Obrenovic dynasty. This tells us that the dish was not manufactured after 1903. King Alexander was married to Queen Draga in 1900. Since the picture is Queen Draga, the dish was not made before 1900.
It was made between 1900 and 1903. It was a time when kings were popular, and when tradition was important.
