How the discovery of the wheel made people's life easy
Another interesting discovery that people made in the Stone Age was the wheel. It was as important as the invention of farming and fire. When the wheel was not discovered, people carried things on their back and shoulders. This must have been for difficult for them. Later they made sledges to carry things and large animals they hunted.
However nobody knows who discovered the wheel, but archaeologists guess that it was first exercised almost 5,000 years ago. Ancient people must have found a log of wood roll down a mountain. After seeing this, they understood clearly that round things will always roll. They cut a log of wood or the trunk of a tree to make the first wheel. Over the years the shape of the wheel changed many times.
Like all other inventions they discover the wheel which made their life comfortable. They could now be able to carry thing from one place to another place. They soon started to make carts, which was a large and flat piece of wood attached with two or four wheels. People could push and pull it comfortably. They could now travel to long distance in a cart. They later found that wheel could be used to make better pots in short period.
