Karaman

According to researches, the communities first time in Karaman in the BC 6000 years began to live. Karaman was first used by the Hittites as a city.

In the 7th century BC, Karaman was conquered by the Phrygian state. But only a century later the kingdom of Lydia conquered Karaman. However, after the Lydian kingdom became unpowerful, Karaman was ruled by the Persians.

In later years, the Roman Empire conquered Karaman. For many years, Karaman was ruled by the Roman Empire and the Byzantine state.

In the 11th century, the Turks conquered Karaman. Karaman was the capital of the Karamanoglu State. An investment was made to Karaman by the Karamanoglu State. In 1503, the Ottoman Empire conquered Karaman. After the breakup of the Ottoman Empire, Karaman has been a city of the Republic of Turkey.
