Isparta

According to research, communities began to live in the Palaeolithic age in Isparta for the first time. The first known communities living in Isparta are the people of Luvi and Arzava. Later, Isparta became a city of the Phrygian state.

In later years the Lydians conquered Isparta. But recently, the Persians conquered Isparta. After Alexander the Great defeated the Persians, the Persians left Isparta. In later years, Isparta began to be governed by the Roman empire. Isparta is an important trade center for the Romans.

In 1204, Isparta was conquered by the Seljuk State. In 1391, the Ottoman Empire conquered Isparta. After the breakup of the Ottoman Empire, Isparta has been a city of the Republic of Turkey.
