Bumin Kagan was born in 490. Bumin Kagan is the chief of the Göktürk tribe who engaged in ironwork for Avarlar until 552.

In 552 Bumin Kagan fought against Avarlar and destroyed the Kingdom of Avar. Bumin Kagan established the Göktürk State in 552.

In 551 Bumin Kagan married Prince Chang, a member of the Vay Dynasty. And Bumin Kagan has four boys from this marriage.

Bumin Kagan passed away in 553.
