Injudicious Patriotism; on the side of the Angels…

I was thinking today about the veracity of the recently released FISA Memo. Part of me says that there is no way that senior FBI & Justice Department officials could have gone so far off the reservation. I would really have found it difficult to believe had say Romney, Bush or even Kasich won the election. But it was Donald Trump who was poised to take the reins of government, and it dawned on me that these normally law-abiding folks might have been overcome by a condition I have dubbed, ‘Injudicious Patriotism’.

I can just see this group of career Federal Law Enforcement Officials sitting in a Georgetown bar, drinking single malt scotch and deluding themselves into thinking they had to save the country, hell maybe even the world from Donald Trump. They may have spoken about a scenario in which their German forefathers could have taken out Hitler back in the 1930’s, before he had a chance to set the world on fire. Yeah, that’s the ticket. After all, they surely were on the side of the Angels. And that’s how this whole shit show may have gone off the rails…
