Cry me a river (ENG/ PT/ DE)

a Portuguese, Azorian fairy tale

I was on the phone with a friend who was telling me that she got married in the Azores, in Sete Cidates to be precise.
I asked her why she chose this place.
Then she told me about the fairy tale that connects the two lakes. The special thing about these lakes is that the water of the two lakes does not mix there. So you have a blue and a green lake.

So it says in the fairy tale that a pretty, young, blue-eyed princess who lived in a big kingdom. This princess enjoyed a simple life in the country, and she loved it very much. She looked at the flowers, went for a walk or simply admired the beauty of the nature that surrounded her. One day the young, blue-eyed princess walked across a meadow past a flock of sheep. A beautiful green-eyed shepherd blocked her. The princess ran by and started talking to the young shepherd. Both were taken with each other and talked about nature and about God and the world.

From then on the princess went to the same place every day to meet the shepherd and talk. They both fell in love and promised that they would love each other forever. But when the father of the princess, the king, heard that his only daughter had met with the shepherd boy, he became very angry. The princess should marry a prince from a nearby kingdom and not waste her time with a poor shepherd. So the princess was never allowed to see the shepherd again!
To be deported she was allowed to meet her shepherd one last time. They met on the green meadows of Seta Cedates, where they also met for the first time. And they talked for hours that they couldn't be together. While they were talking, they both cried bitterly.
The tears from the blue eyes of the girls streamed down the valley and formed the blue lake. The tears from the shepherd's green eyes formed the green lake.

According to legend, even if the two of them cannot be together forever, the two lakes can.
It's very romantic and tragic, sad place for a wedding, but it's as if shepherd and princess are now coming together.

um conto de fadas português, açoriano

Estava ao telefone com uma amiga que me dizia que se tinha casado nos Açores, mais precisamente em Sete Cidates.
Perguntei-lhe por que razão escolheu este lugar.
Depois ela contou-me sobre o conto de fadas que liga os dois lagos. A coisa especial destes lagos é que a água dos dois lagos não se mistura ali. Então você tem um lago azul e um verde.

Assim diz no conto de fadas que uma princesa bonita, jovem, de olhos azuis que vivia num grande reino. Esta princesa desfrutou de uma vida simples no campo, e ela adorou muito. Ela olhou para as flores, foi dar um passeio ou simplesmente admirava a beleza da natureza que a cercava. Um dia, a jovem princesa de olhos azuis atravessou um prado, passando por um rebanho de ovelhas. Um belo pastor de olhos verdes a bloqueou. A princesa passou e começou a falar com o jovem pastor. Ambos foram levados um com o outro e falaram sobre a natureza e sobre Deus e o mundo.

A partir daí, a princesa foi ao mesmo lugar todos os dias para encontrar o pastor e conversar. Ambos se apaixonaram e prometeram que se amariam para sempre. Mas quando o pai da princesa, o rei, soube que a sua única filha se tinha encontrado com o pastor, ficou muito zangado. A princesa deve se casar com um príncipe de um reino próximo e não perder seu tempo com um pastor pobre. Assim, a princesa nunca mais pôde ver o pastor!
Para ser deportada, foi-lhe permitido encontrar o seu pastor uma última vez. Encontraram-se nos prados verdes de Seta Cedates, onde também se encontraram pela primeira vez. E eles falaram por horas que não podiam estar juntos. Enquanto falavam, ambos choravam amargamente.
As lágrimas dos olhos azuis das meninas corriam pelo vale e formavam o lago azul. As lágrimas dos olhos verdes do pastor formaram o lago verde.

Segundo a lenda, mesmo que os dois não possam ficar juntos para sempre, os dois lagos podem.
É um lugar muito romântico e trágico, triste para um casamento, mas é como se o pastor e a princesa se juntassem agora.

Ich habe mit einer Freundin telefoniert, die mir erzählte. Dass sie auf den Azoren, genauer gesagt in Sete Cidates heiratete.
Ich fragte sie, warum sie gerade diesen Ort auswählte.
Da erzählte sie mir von dem Märchen, welchen die beiden Seen verbindet. Das besondere an diesen Seen ist, dass sich das Wasser der zwei Seen dort nicht mischt. Somit hat man einen blauen und einen grünen See.

So heißt es in dem Märchen, dass eine hübsche, junge, blauäugige Prinzessin, welche in einem großen Königreich lebte. Diese Prinzessin genoss ein einfaches Leben auf dem Land, und sie liebte es sehr. Sie schaute sich die Blumen an, ging spazieren oder bewunderte einfach nur die Schönheit der Natur, welche Sie umgab. Eines Tages spazierte die junge, blauäugige Prinzessin über eine Wiese an einer Schafherde vorbei. Ein wunderschöner, grünäugiger Schäfer blockte sie an. Die Prinzessin lief vorbei und fing an, mit dem jungrn Schafshirten zu sprechen. Beide waren von einander angetan und sprachen über die Natur und über Gott und die Welt.

Von dem Zeitpunkt an ging die Prinzessin jeden Tag zur gleichen Stelle um den Hirten zu treffen und sich zu unterhalten. Beide verliebten sie sich ineinander und versprachen, dass sie sich für immer lieben werden. Doch als der Vater der Prinzessin das hörte, der König, dass sich seine einzige Tochter mit dem Hirtenjungen getroffen hatte, wurde er sehr sauer. Die Prinzessin sollte einen Prinzen aus einem nahegelegenen Königreich heiratet und nicht mit einm armen Hirten ihre Zeit vergeuden. Deshalb durfte die Prinzessin den Schafshirten nie wieder sehen!
Zum abschieben durfte sie ihren Hirten noch ein letztens mal treffen. Sie trafen sich auf den grünen Wiesen von Seta Cedates, wo sie sich auch das ersten Mal trafen. Und sie sprachen stundenlang darüber, dass sie nicht zusammen sein können. Während sie redeten, weinten beide bitterlich.

Die Tränen aus den blauen Augen der Mädchen strömten das Tal hinunter und bildeten den blauen See. Die Tränen aus den grünen Augen des Hirten bildeten den grünen See.

So heißt es in der Legende, auch wenn sie beide nicht für ewig zusammen sein können, so können es die beiden Seen.

Es sehr romantischer und tragisch, trauriger Ort für eine Hochzeit, doch es ist, als würden nun Hirte und Prinzessin zusammenkommen.
