Ex Templo de San José, architectural gem in San Francisco de Campeche
In San Francisco of Campeche there are beautiful spots full of the history and the faith of the Campechanos. Spiers and towers with bells that call for mass, or mosaics of talavera reflecting the sunset are always a good reason to invite us to admire its interior.
Ex Templo de San José. Undoubtedly one of the most beautiful churches in the city for its facade, which exhibits a modest baroque style in which the use of tiles of the Talavera type stands out admirably.
The old temple dedicated to San José, the patron saint of carpenters and boat builders, is located on Calle 10 and Calle 63.
Today the old temple building is used as a gallery for cultural events and exhibitions.
Visit: daily from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
