Alejandria: The Lighthouse and the Library

We refer initially to Alexander the Great, the ideologist of that great city called Alexandria, who along with his designer were justly immortalized by history and humanity.

Today, more than 2300 years after the construction of the Old World Capital, Alexandria is a metropolis of the contemporary Egyptian world where approximately 3 million people live between large modern buildings and the remains of the ancient cultural cradle, and of the knowledge, of The humanity.
The accelerated development seems to not want to leave any trace what was once the most extraordinary creation that existed as a model of City and Power. However, since 1995, when the waters surrounding Modern Alexandria sprang the statue of one of the first Kings of that ancient and magical city that represented, in a totally insurmountable way, the beauty, art and culture of the ancient world , the interest in Alexandria seems to have been revived to never again be lost in disinterest and indifference.

In order to share the memory for the wonder that represented Alexandria today we would like to make a small account of two of the main references of Ancient Alexandria, so remember The Lighthouse and The Library
The lighthouse
Built in the 3rd century BC C, El Faro was a tower whose height is estimated between 115 and 150 meters, one of the constructions of greater height for the moment, which is part of one of the 7 Wonders of the World.

Built on the island of Faro, in front of Alexandria, its mission was to serve as a reference to the maritime life that developed around Ancient Egypt, since the characteristics of that region were not perceptible for maritime navigation, something that was solved with the colossal building that also kept the city lit every night after its construction. It was the Faro that would attract the attention of the great designer, and ideologist, of the construction of the Great City of Alexandria, Alexander the Great.
Library
Definitely the Library of Alexandria, in Ancient Egypt, was the first research center in the world. There the most important minds, from that moment, coming from any place that could eat, sleep, finally live, in the facilities of the Library shared knowledge and produced increasingly more elaborate and pertinent knowledge product of those erudite discussions .
The history of the Library of Alexandria, despite having been the largest and most important center of intellectuality in antiquity, is full of setbacks and mysteries, because there is very little that can be definitively stated about it.
For example, he does not know, exactly where he was, or where he is now, who made life in that room, that books really were part of that rich bank of knowledge. Probably, and only probable since, we repeat, regarding the Library everything is mystery and uncertainty, the end of that majestic enclosure of knowledge and culture can be located between the III or IV centuries, when Aureliano took and plundered the city.
