RE: The Decorations Found At The Tomb Of King And Queen : Ear Ring, Necklace and Bracelets

in #history6 years ago

very beautiful jewelry, @slowwalker.

In a previous post you lamented losing the history of the Baekje dynasty, one of the most advanced cultures in the Korean Ancient World.

Apparently there are no large architectural remains such as pagodas or Buddha statues but you have discovered some exquisitely crafted jewelry.

In a way, this is much more personal because these necklaces and the silver bracelet were worn by the king and queen.

Your photos of the gold pieces shining in the light were very impressive. It's apparent that the craftsmanship is very delicate and the refining techniques produced articles that glow with beauty.

My eye was drawn to the queen's necklace which looked very simple and natural - at first, I thought it was a very humble necklace made from bamboo but your closeup photos revealed the fine artistry of the links and the precisely wound gold wire.

National treasures are not always great monuments - sometimes they are tiny beautifully wrought ornaments for personal wear.

A thing can be perfect despite its dimensions.

Have a good day, my friend.
