The Abandoned Baywalk of Bacolod City!

in #history6 years ago (edited)

The only commercial bay-walk in Bacolod has been closed two years ago!
How is it possible to close a property landmark that was opened in public in February 14, 2013. Then all of a sudden this place was abandoned and people of Bacolod are no longer welcome to enter which is supposedly one of the latest attraction.

The Abandoned Bay-walk is a 2 hectare land along the coastal of Reclamation Area beside the BREDCO PORT. That was 3 o'clock in the afternoon in February 14 Valentines Day year 2013 the gate opened for inauguration.

A perfect place for diners while you can enjoy listening to the beat of music, concert and battle of the bands. While food carts and kiosk are available inside from finger foods, or snacks to cater people who are hungry. Then for those who loves to eat sea foods where restaurants served to their customers the menu that they want to eat after they choose from variety of fish, sea shells, and other sea food on their stoles.

The highlight in Bay-walk is the beautiful spot for sunset where you can see the sun slowly disappearing from the horizon. Then the sky turns into an amazing color with combination of yellow, orange, purple and blue. While the ray of the sun defines the beauty of nature.

But how Bacolod officials shutdown the operation of Bay-walk last 2016. Which I don't wan't to discuss here without concrete information. As far as I know it is more about on political issues and I don't wan't to give any opinion about that.

What I can only say that this place is almost developed and government spent millions of penny just to build up the Bacolod image. Then after 2-3 consecutive years Baywalk restricts the public to enter at the premises.

The last time I visited this place is the same set-up I saw recently this afternoon. The only difference is the people visibility hanging around made me feel a little creepy to this place. It's insane to imagine why the place is not maintained, or maybe it's just the decrepit entrance. I hope the inside are well maintained, however I am glad to see that no presence of any trashes.

What I also remember are the variety of plans that they want to add up to this place. It was stated on the bulletin about the rental of Jet-ski , boating, receiving duck for ferry that allows passenger to go direct at the lounge area and a castle tower that connects both ends. These plans are extremely awesome if they let it happened and still developed the place.

Maybe one of the reason why Bay-center shutdown, because the land doesn't belong to government. It is a private property owned by Palanca Family who also owns the Bredco and some Shipping lines in Bacolod. They reclaimed the area, then expanded it where the SM City is also situated.

I have some photos here together with my friends as we visited the grand opening of Bay-walk in February 14, 2013. There are lots of people who'd come to witness the latest attraction in Bacolod City. That day it is very crowded, but we are thankful we came earlier because after 6 PM they hold the entry gate. It feels congested inside when there are a lot of people standing anywhere and your actions are limited due to no enough space.

I can't remember the last time I visited Baywalk, until one day as we go their to hangout the fences welcomed us. Saying that " This Place is Temporarily closed " but why its still closed it says temporary and already abandoned that looks like a creepy place.
