Sheikhupura Fort - A Historical fort which is now a haunted place.

in #history7 years ago

This is a Spectacular piece of Art which was build in the reign of Emperor Jahangir. It is located in Sheikhupura Pakistan. It was invaded by many kings and they took control of this fort, and this cycle of over throwing power continued for centuries. Many Maharaja's and maharani's were house arrested in this fort after demise of their power. It was a great architecture which should not be ruined like this we should take care of our Historical Buildings and Architecture.

It is the main Entrance gate of the fort and this is the only entrance to the fort.

Lets go inside and take a look at it, as you can see that it's like falling apart, the administration of this fort told me to watch out the buildings inside the fort, it's not in good condition.

There are many buildings in the fort but tourists are not allowed to go inside because of it's damaged condition and many buildings have bats in them living for a long time. Lets see the artistic buildings which now look like as abandoned houses.

This place once represented lavish life style of kings and Maharajas, but now its only a historical ruin due to the People who did not care about the value of the Historical culture. As you can see that a Place which was an Example of an Amazing Art building transformed into a haunted house.

Amazing structure there, buddy. And great write up too. I especially love the photo of that deep well. Looks like it leads to one crazy drop. Would love to be able to visit this place someday.

Awesome. :)

Thank you so much for the feedback. You are right that well looks do deep, feels like a gateway to another dimension. you would definitely love the structure if you do visit someday.

"A gateway to another dimension".

I love this type of sci-fi, would be a great story for a book actually.

Beautiful architecture, shame that they don't restore it. I guess Pakistan isn't exactly known for tourism though.

In total agreement, its known for other things but the fort is an amazing piece of art turning into dust. If the restoration is not done these pictures will be the only remaining proof of its existence

Yeah... I wish I could

Cool pics.
The one shot of the well (or DEEP HOLE) was rather forboding. It did not exactly look inviting.

For myself, I appreciate the 1st & 2nd images best.

i looked it up - this is in PAKISTAN. Twas built in 1607. So it's several hundred years old.

Thank you for this interesting and informative post. Your photos show the damage that is being wrought through time and neglect. One of the things that keep British mnuments from falling into disrepair and devastation are organisations such as English heritage, National Trust and so on. But most of all it depends on insdividuals who have driven an idea to renovate something that is decrepid and gather volunteers in their wake. I don't know if you have anything like this, but it's a place to start. It would serve history.

Nice and fascinating places, nicely written blog.

i visit this place very soon because i live in Sheikhupura

Thanks for sharing
