Hello janton, and yes I am speed reading the book again to refresh my memory. All the information I could get on the cause of Marcus Clarke's death was due 'pecuniary' difficulties which leave it very open to the imagination.
"pecuniary' difficulties?" wow, I never even heard that word before. Yes, that could mean anything! What a shame that he died so young with such a large family to support, I don't know how his wife made it.
