Have you ever heard of this board game before? You may have because it has carried over into modern times.

This board game is known as Nine Men's Morris, and it can be dated as far back as the Roman empire around 2,000 years ago. It sometimes can be found printed on the back of select checker boards.
The first time I encountered it was at this Viking exhibit where they had it on display. The picture below is the Viking's take on this 2,000 year old board game.
